On May 10-13, 2016, Pavilions No.2 and 8 of Expocentre Fairgrounds host the 28th edition of the Sviaz International Exhibition for Information and Communications Technology. It is organized by Expocentre AO, and supported by the Government of the Russian Federation, the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and the Federal Communications Agency (Rossvyaz). The auspices are provided by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

 

Since its launch in 1975, the show has been transformed several times to keep up with the times. This year, for the first time in 20 years, this largest IT event in Russia and Eastern Europe opens under its original name – Sviaz.

 

Sviaz is acknowledged across the globe which is confirmed by labels of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and RUEF, the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs. 

 

Sviaz is highly regarded not only by the professional community but also by the Russian authorities.  

 

This year the Organizing Committee is headed by Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Sergey Zheleznyak.

 

Sviaz 2016 is the central event of the first edition of the Russian Week of High Technologies organized by Expocentre AO. The Week brings together several large events:

  • the 8th edition of the Navitech International Exhibition for Navigation Systems, Technologies and Services,
  • the 22nd edition of the STL. Systems for Transport and Logistics International Exhibition,  
  • the Big Media Communications Forum,  
  • the International Navigation Forum,  
  • the Smart Technology Conference.

 

The show traditionally covers the most relevant sectors of IT and telecommunications in such product sectors as  

  • Communications. Technology, equipment, solutions and services,
  • Data networks,
  • Telecommunications and network infrastructure,
  • TV and radio broadcasting,
  • Software,
  • IT services,
  • Mobile payments,
  • Internet based technology and services.

This year it also includes two new salons:

  • Data Centers,
  • Software.

The 28th edition welcomes more than 300 companies from 17 countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia, and the USA.  

 

Foreign exhibitors include such well-known companies as Keysight Technologies, Fiberhome Technologies, Corning, Riello Ups, Rohde & Schwarz, Sumitomo Electric, Intelsat, Ilsintech, 3CX, Coats, and other. There are also leaders of the Chinese market: Raisecom Technology, and the 41st Institute of CETC.

 

Russia is represented by more than 200 companies including Nateks, FTI-Optronic, Telta Perm Telephone Plant, Supertel, Saranskkabel-Optika, NTC Pik, Micran, and Gazprom Space Systems.

 

The Skolkovo Innovation Center has a separate stand presenting both developments and ready-made products of companies which are part of the centre’s three clusters: space technologies and telecommunications, IT, and nuclear technologies.

 

Sviaz 2016 features a new Software salon. Its partner is IP Infusion (Germany). Participants include Neocom Software, SDL-Soft, CommFort Software, LocalGEO, Webinar, NTC IT Rosa, and others.

 

The Russian Federal Communications Agency presents a showcase of the Popov Central Communication Museum on the history of communications.  

 

The event features the Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions online project aimed at minimizing counterfeit products showcased at exhibitions through providing consultations and clarifications regarding intellectual property, and rendering assistance in solving conflicts connected with violations of exclusive rights.   

 

The central event of the rich and diverse program is the Big Media Communications Forum. It is organized by Expocentre AO and the Russian Association for Electronic Communications with support of the Russian Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, the Institute of Internet Development, the Coordination Center for TLD RU, RSpectr, the Media Communications Union, the Association of Russian Software Developers, the Centre of Internet Technologies, and the Russian Association of Networks and Services.  

 

To make the Forum more convenient for participants and speakers, it is divided into days, blocks and three main conferences: MediaSpectrum 2016, Internet + MEDIA 2016, and AdTech Russia 2016.

 

One more important event of Sviaz 2016 is the 20th edition of the ITA International Forum organized by the International Telecommunications Academy (ITA). 

 

For four days the exhibition is co-located with the Smart Technologies Conference devoted to various issues of transportation, logistics and communications. 

 

Sviaz 2016 also features the 2nd edition of the VSAT Championship which is one of the most entertaining and interesting events of the program. It is organized by AltegroSky in association with Expocentre AO. It is the world’s only professional event for VSAT installers.  Its main aim is to promote VSAT and satellite broadband access in Russia. The championship is supported by the Russian Federal Communications Agency (Rossvyaz) and the Global VSAT Forum (GVF). 1There will be competing teams from Russia and other countries.  

 

In 2016 Sviaz and the Big Media Communications Forum include cybersecurity competitions for students. They will be held according to international rules and welcome about 100 students from all over Russia.
