SVIAZ-EXPOCOMM’2009 International Exhibition

On May 12-15 Sviaz-Expocomm’2009, the 21st International Exhibition for Telecommunications, Control Systems, IT and Communication Services will take up Pavilions No.1 and 2 and open air sites of Expocentre Fairgrounds. Co-organized by Expocentre (Russia) and E.J. Krause & Associates Inc. (USA), the Exhibition has a more than 30-year history, and is the largest international event of its kind in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Sviaz-Expocomm’2009 has the official support of the Russian Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, and the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Exhibition is held under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Government, with the participation of the EUROEXPO Exhibition Company.

According to Igor Shchegolev, the Russian Federation Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications, “the Exhibition has a huge potential and is worth supporting as one of the most significant industry events that brings together ICT and mass communications professionals. This kind of exhibition has been of particular relevance for a long time, and is popular with both the industry and society. The event offers a fundamentally new type of cooperation to communications, IT and mass media professionals, engineers, developers and equipment manufacturers. It reflects the full information cycle, i.e. the circulation of information in society”.

Sviaz-Expocomm’2009 will bring together those who create competitive content, process, and store and deliver it by means of the most modern technologies and finally those selling information products.

The event’s high international status is confirmed by the participation of leading manufactures of telecom and IT equipment. The Exhibition is approved by UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry and RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, and proudly carries their logos as a label of quality and recognition.

Svyaz-Expocomm’2009 comprises all information sector segments, namely telecommunications, information technologies and mass media. The Exhibition features advanced technologies that allow not only optimizing information support costs but also expanding a range of instruments essential for making business during the global economic recession.

Participation of over 400 companies from 21 countries that include Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, China (including Taiwan), Czechia, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Russia, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the USA.

National pavilions and collective display stands will be organized by China, Taiwan, Germany, and South Korea.

May 12-15 the Center for Science and Professional Education organized by Expocentre for the purpose of science and education advancement and development in the field of communications and telecommunication equipment will work within the Sviaz-Expocomm’2009 Exhibition in Pavilion No.2 (Hall 3, Booths No. 23B30 – 23B35).

This year the following institutes of higher education and colleges will participate in the Center for Science and Professional Education: SibGuty, MEI, MTUSI, PGUTI, VNIIKP, the Rostov-on-Don State College of Communications and Informatics, the Rostov Institute of Professional Development in the Field of IT and Communications.

EXTRA SERVICES FOR EXHIBITORS AND VISITORS

New services rendered to exhibitors and visitors by Expocentre make their work at the event most efficient.

It is the third time Expocentre has held a free seminar on Effective Exhibiting intended for participants in Svyaz-Expocomm. The exhibition organizers presented new forms of work with exhibitors. The seminar provided the delegates with practical advice on how to deal with organizational issues, and opened additional possibilities for business development. The information received will help exhibitors to maximize the power of the exhibition they participate in, learn about and make use of Expocentre’s additional services, and minimize exhibition costs and related tax risks.

Svyaz-Expocomm’2009 exhibitors and visitors are invited to use the MatchMaking System to schedule appointments online with a company representative before the event. A specially arranged Business Area provides a favourable environment to concentrate on negotiations, and an hourly schedule of meetings will allow optimizing one’s time at the event.

The În-line registration system enables industry specialists to register as visitors to the exhibition via the Internet. One just needs to complete a form on Expocentre’s corporate website, and print out an individual barcode that allows daily admission. This service available is particularly convenient for regional visitors.

Participants will be able to make an appointment, carry on negotiations in a comfortable atmosphere and get information on the exhibition programme in Business Center, a specifically equipped area.

SVIAZ-EXPOCOMM’2009 EVENT PROGRAMME

The Exhibition is supported by a varied programme of events, conferences, seminars and round table discussions. The event programme has been formed in accordance with recommendations of core ministries and institutions, professional associations and business community.

Within Sviaz-Expocomm’2009 the FORT ROSS Company in conjunction with Expocentre holds IT Spring, a congress on the present-day problems of IT-market development. Taking into consideration the present economic situation in the world, the main purpose of the Congress is to tell delegates about the possibilities of optimization and reduction of costs in their companies with the help of high information technologies. The IT-Spring’2009 Congress comprises the Open Source Forum Russia’2009.

On May 12-14 a Presentation Forum organized by E.J. Krause & Associates, Inc. (USA) will take place in the presentation zone (Booth 22 E10, Hall 2, Pavilion 2, Expocentre Fairgrounds). The event provides a unique opportunity to demonstrated new technology, the latest developments, solutions and brand new products to target audiences. The list of the Forum participants comprises Keymile, Streamezzo, Elektrosetstroyproekt ZAO, Elvira ZAO, ViaSat Inc., Eltekh OOO in cooperation with the Freescale Semiconductor Russia, Proxim Wireless and Andrew.

On May 13 Pavilion 2 (Hall 3), Expocentre Fairgrounds accommodates the 3rd High-Definition Television International Conference, running under the motto “HDTV Is the Best Reply of Digital TV to the Global Recession!”

The event programme of the Centre for Science and Professional Education includes the Telecommunication Equipment and Technologies Scientific Conference and Workshop organized by Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics, Russia’s leading university in the field of communications. The Conference is scheduled for May 14, 2009 in the Conference Hall, Pavilion 2, Hall 3.

IT Students e-Cup’2009, a set of all-round computer competitions on various applied computer subjects among Moscow school and student teams, will be held as part of the event programme. The goal of this event is to increase the educational level of the young in the field of IT. The participation of schools and universities in these contests encourages exchange of experience in using teaching technology.

Target audience: senior pupils, students, young disabled people, teachers and instructors

Organizers: Expocentre, EUROEXPO Company, Digital House for the Youth in Khamovniki, and Fund of game technologies and cyber-sport development.

Participants: Moscow school and university teams. Expected number of participants: 150 people, young disabled people: about 10 people

The competition programme includes preparation and holding of contests as well as presentations, consultations and master-classes.
