Russian Week of High Technology 2024 brings together major events of ICT industry

Russian Week of High Technologies 2024 (RWHT) has opened at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. It is a large-scale series of exhibitions and congresses dedicated to Russian IT, telecommunications, navigation, and telematics. 

The Week brings together several trade shows and events of its conference programme. This year, RWHT includes the Sviaz 2024 International Exhibition for Information and Communications Technology, the Navitech Display of Navigation Systems, Technologies and Services, the 17th International Navigation Forum, and the International Consumer Electronics Exposition ICEE. RWHT is also included in the Designing the Future initiative of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia.

The centrepiece of Russian Week of High Technologies is Sviaz 2024, which is the most significant ICT event of the year. It is held with the support of the Russian State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, the Competence Center of Import Substitution in the ICT Sector, the GLONASS Union, the Russian Software Products Association “Russian Software”, and the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education Vladimir Kononov took part in the official opening ceremony of Russian Week of High Technologies 2024. He thanked the visitors, exhibitors and organisers and stressed that the Week was designed to promote the development of scientific and technological achievements and their implementation in real sectors of the economy.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Vasily Shpak said that it was important to talk about achievements aimed at gaining technological independence in the current challenging external environment. The full-fledged development of the state, security and global competition are impossible without such independence. 

Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia Alexandr Shoytov expressed the hope that Sviaz 2024 held within RWHT would become the largest platform for effective dialogue between representatives of government authorities, scientific community and industry enterprises on the most relevant issues of industry development.

Vice President at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vadim Chubarov said that the creation of a modern information environment was one of the key areas of the government's activities, as it allowed in combination with high intelligence and scientific potential to create the basis for major systemic transformations of the Russian economy and the country's successful breakthrough to a new technological level.

Director General at EXPOCENTRE Maxim Fateev expressed his gratitude to all the partners of Russian Week of High Technology and said that Sviaz 2024 had grown significantly in terms of space and the number of participants. This year, the exhibition has a net area of 9,000 square metres. Almost 700 companies from 9 countries and 29 regions of Russia are taking part in it. Maxim Fateev also spoke about a wide presence of young people at the exhibition and the participation of eight technological universities.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Director General at the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications Alexey Borodin, and Vice President for Information and Communications Technologies at the Center for Progress and Development of Iran Presidency Mehdi Kalantar.
