Russian Week of High Technologies is launched at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds

Russian Week of High Technologies 2020 (RWHT) has opened at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. RWHT unites the leading convention and exhibition events in the field of IT, telecommunications, navigation and telematics. RWHT 2020 features Sviaz 2020, the 32nd International Exhibition for Information and Communications Technology, and Navitech 2020, the 12th International Exhibition for Navigation Systems, Technologies and Services, as well as Sviaz 2020 Forum: Digital Future of Telecom Industry and Russian Software Forum: Effective Solutions for Digital Economy.

At the opening ceremony of the Week, Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO Sergey Bednov reminded that Russian Week of High Technologies celebrates its first five-year anniversary. During this time the exhibition project has gained high authority, recognition and demand in the professional environment.

"On behalf of the organisers I would like to thank the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the State Duma Committee on Education and Science of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Federal Communications Agency, as well as all relevant organisations for their comprehensive support of this event. The Week is held under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation", Mr. Bednov said.

Russian Week of High Technologies is part of the NTI Expo (Research –Technology - Innovations Expo), aimed at promoting national projects in the field of digital transformation.

RWHT 2020 forms a multi-sectoral platform for creation and development of digital economy infrastructure. It will combine programme of supporting events and exhibitions presenting new developments in the field of communication networks, data processing centers, software, Internet access, cloud technologies, mobile solutions, artificial intelligence and other relevant areas.

Vladimir Kononov, Member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairman of NTI Expo Organising Committee, noted that NTI Expo project gives a unique opportunity to gather business leaders, key experts, representatives of legislative and executive authorities and mass media to discuss issues of digitalization.

Sergey Katyrin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, noted that in today's difficult conditions we are pleased with the very fact that we have the opportunity to meet and discuss live. There is an opportunity to see what innovations are showcased at the exhibition.

Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia Maksim Parshin pointed out that digital service during the pandemic allowed us to remain effective - to receive services and work remotely. All this, of course, increased telecommunications workload. At the same time, the softening of the tax policy allowed domestic software companies to reach a new quality level.

The official opening ceremony of Russian Week of High Technologies 2020 was also attended by Oleg Dukhovnitsky, Head of the Federal Communications Agency, and Alexander Gorbatko, Deputy Head of Department of Information Technologies of Moscow.
